Fit specific applications
Powerful image acquisition and analysis software can be selected for different metallographic samples and industrial inspection tasks.
Industrial materials inspection
All industrial inspection and measurement tasks can be performed quickly and efficiently with the modular Leica DM ILM inverted microscope.
High-performance optics provide clear resolution and contrast in incident-light brightfield, polarization, and fluorescence, while the system accommodates large objects, serial inspection, and high sample volumes.
Key features
Powerful image acquisition and analysis software can be selected for different metallographic samples and industrial inspection tasks.
Six viewing tubes are available, including a 0° to 35° adjustable Ergotube for comfortable microscope work.
The built-in 6 V / 35 W halogen-lamp supply is convenient to control and saves bench space.
Industrial workflow
Advantage 01
The optics of an inverted microscope are located below the stage, with the sample above the objectives. Compared with an upright design, this layout provides more open working space for objects that vary greatly in height, size, and weight.
Advantage 02
After a specimen is placed on the stage and its surface is focused, similar specimens can be exchanged directly. The official workflow comparison shows that, under the stated example conditions, inverted observation can substantially shorten sample-change and preparation steps.
Advantage 03
The objectives are protected below the stage. This inverted arrangement helps reduce accidental contact between the objective and specimen, lowering the risk of damage to optics, samples, and workflow continuity.
Advantage 04
In inverted observation, only one side of the sample normally needs to be prepared. Large workpieces do not have to be cut into smaller pieces and embedded, and a sample press is not required to level the observed surface.
Advantage 05
With an inverted microscope, the movement of the specimen and the image seen through the eyepieces is in the same direction. This intuitive response reduces the mental load for less-experienced users and helps speed positioning.
